BEing in middle school, its a lot to be thinking about college. I am and 8th grader, which means i will be in high school next year. I am not going to lie, i have thought about college before, in fact I am in a college prep class called AVID ( Advanced Via Indivisual Determination). So I kind of have an advantage of setting my future. I have thought about which college I would like to go to, what I want to major in, and what I am going to do after high school, so let me tell you about it!
There are so many different colleges all around the world, but i would want to go to a college in the United States, especially in California or Seattle. Both those stated are very pleasing to me, and I have been there before many times. I did look into some college in California, and I would be interested in UCLA, or Biola University. I would like to go to UCLA because it is a very nice college, and it offered a lot of majors. Also I heard about Biola because a lot of the people I know went there, or is going there right now, in fact, one of the alumni media students from a few years back is going there right now. They offer many major options, and both colleges are very nice.
Now to talk about what I want to go to college for! Before kid is asked in there life. For y self it went from being a Princess, to a cowgirl, to a flight attendant. Now that I am more mature I am looking at things from a different perspective, like the money, and the college, and vacation, etc. I am seriously considering majoring in phsycoligy, and religions now that I am older and know the difference from fantasy and reality, although it never hurt to dream big! I would like to major in these things because there is many things you can do with this credit, you could be a phsycoligist or a youth minister, or a Pro. Therapist. But in order to go to college and major, first I have to be prepared.
Preparing for college is a huge mile stone in life. And being in the Avid program as I said before helps alot. They help with college essays to applications, to researching about the college. But, I deffinitally need to work on getting good grades if I want to make it in to a University. After high school I hope to go straight into college and hopefully live with family or in a rental. I have heard about dorms and seen them, and they arent that bad, but I would deffinitally prefer living off campus.
College is a lot to think about in middle school, but its never too early to be thinking about the future. Well, I will keep you updated.
