Hey everone! As you know, this school year is very sadly coming to an end :(. So what all of the 8th graders in media have been assigned to do is make an end of the year slideshow of all the eigth graders going into high school. It's going to be around 10-12 minutes long and hopefully very nice to watch before everyone leaves CKMS. But we have decided to put a little twist on the video to make it interesting to watch so it's not just picture after picture. I would love to tell you but it's a big surprise! That's all I can say so thanks for reading! Bye!
Hey everone! For this weeks blog, the topic is giving back to the community. Here on our small island of Kauai, everyone pretty much knows everyone. In the media class it requires a lot of work and support to keep doing what we're doing, and the community is always helping us out. I think it's an absolute great idea to give back to the community of Kauai evaluate they do so much for us. Yes, we are all busy, busy, busy with our projects, radios, etc. but anyone can find time to give back to those who have helped us. If we all work together as a team on Kauai we could all make this an even happier and friendlier place to live. There is so much we could do on Kauai to give back. Some ideas are the whole class could donate recyclables and we could raise money through that and give it to the schools. This would be something great to do because it is easy, we could provide kids with more efficient schooling and keep our island litter free while doing it! Another idea we could do is participate in things other groups/classes might be hosting. For example like the Run for Pa'a. Or the Color for Cancer run! Like I said before, our class is very, very busy with so many things but we can always find time to help out our community. Perhaps we could do some of these things once a quater so that way we are doing it often, but not so often our schedules get out of control. Giving back to our community is such a nice thing to do so I hope we can actually start doing these things on a regular bases! Aloha! Hey guys!! So there has been a huge talk on weather the iPhone or galaxy is a better phone. What do you think?? Most people say iPhones are much easier to work and figure out but others say galaxy's have a better camera setup, etc. I want to know what you think so leave a comment below!! Hey everyone! For this blog I'm going to tell you about the pros and cons of being in media! One of the major pros to me about beig in media is you meet so many new people. When I first joined the class in 6th grade, it was frightening at firt but I made some really good friends that year that helped me get through my first year of middle school. Also, it a lot of wise and smart people in the media and news world. Media is definitely a class where I meet and see new people every year which is definitely one of the many great things about the class. A con of the media class is you are very seperred from the other normal classes. In media (and leadership) you have a different advisory with different grade levels and bungs run differently during class. Sometimes we don't know what's quite going on in our grade level but all the good stuff definitely out ways those little things. Another definite pro of being in the media class is it prepares us for the road of trials ahead. In this class we don't work off of the teacher or our parents. We have to do a lot of things independently like write scripts, schedule interviews, etc. This all prepares us for the future because we re learning responsibility, independance, and teamwork. Inconclusion there is some lows in media but all the great things deffinially way them out! Hey! I just want to share with you guys some of the most important lesssons I have learned this year in the media class which is procrastination, planning, and trying your best. Procrastination is one of my many many weaknesses. This year in media I am very proud of myself because I didn't procrastinate or wait till the last minute like how I've had in the past few years. Yes, I still wait for the last minute for some things, but going to high school is a whole different ball game and there will be no time at all to procrastinate!! Another thing I've learned this year is planning is IMPORTANT!! If you don't plan out everything when it comes to film or edit you are going to be completely lost! By perfecting your script, shot list, times to film, etc. you are making it way easier on yourself. Okay, so the deal is if you don't absolutely try your best, what's the point in trying? I love that quote because in media were always striving to do good to great. And a price of advice for everyone.. I you don't try your best the very first time, then you will never have a great finished product. In conclusion, take these lessons I learned seriously 7th and 6th graders because these are all things you need to know how to do to survive in media! Hey everyone! For this blog I'm gonna do a movie review on the new hit movie "Divergent". I should let you know I'm not a big book reader so I didn't get a chance to read the original book before the movie came out. But, I thought the movie was AWESOME! I loved all the emotion and thrill and just everything about it! And the editing and filming was done fantastically. The shots were unique and portrayed the concept of the movie. Now, some of my friends did read the book, and said the movie was okay, but it left our a lot of stuff the book had. Like characters, scenes, things, etc. Being in media I understand a lot of the behind the scenes thins and how the director thinks. I think they left some stuff out because this movie was made in a very short period of time and it would have cost a lot of money to add in additional things. But the overall reason they left some things out is because it was based on a book. In books the author has no limit, he/she can go beyond the impossible and that's what makes books truly amazing. In movies you actually have to think about how to make the authors wild ideas real to show the audience it can happen. Now, like I said about being a director, it would be very very hard to show multiples and multiples of the same character. We'll, overall I loved the Divergent movie and definitely suggest it for anyone ages 12 and up because there is some scenes that may be intense for some viewers, thanks for reading! Hey guys! So I want to get your ideas on what you think would make a better music video! The song ideas are "Brave" by Sara Berilous, or "PriceTag" by JessieJ. Brave would be a good song because it has a really good message and people of all ages can relate to it. PriceTag is also a really good music video song idea because it's also relatable and tells a story, and is very catchy! What do you think? Leave a comment below! Hey everyone!! This weeks blog topic is our fourth quarter project update. I'll tell you my idea, what we are doing right now, and what we are planning on doing in the future to make sure this project turns out great!
So, following up on my last blog post, I have finalized fourth quarter project. I'll be working with Haven on a music video using the song "Brave" by Sara Berelois.Haven and I chose to work together because we are both very creative, hard workers, and get things done! We chose the song "Brave" because if you ever heard it, it's very inspirational and enjoyable. Haven and I are doing this song because we want our project not to just be something you watch and forget about, but something that sends a message out to everyone. So, we just got our project idea approved, and what we are doing now is writing our script. In our script we include our WWWWWH (Who What When Where Why How). Our script is due in about a week and a half, but hopefully we can turn it in as soon as possible so we an start on the next steps. The next step Haven and I are going to take after we finish and approve our script is filming. Filming, to me, is the hardest part of the whole video making process. Doing a music video is a lot easier to film because you don't have to worry about sound, which I guess is a good thing, but the hard part is every video has to match the time and beat of the song. In conclusion that's how my fourth quarter project is going! |
