Hey! So in one of my previous blogs I have told you a little about the eigth grade slideshow, and I just want to follow up on that. So the video we are making is a slideshow to show all the events and our classmates from this year. It really is quite touching and an honor to be able to make. And, don't tell anyone, but we have a big surprise in store for all the eigth graders!! Well, that's all I can say, so thanks for reading!
Hey guys! For this weeks blog I'm king to give you a final project update! So I will tell you what my final project is, what I am doing right now, and what I am planning on doing to get it done on time! So, for my fourth quater project I am doing a movie trailer with my friend Lindsey. The movie trailer is about a girl that is new in a school and doesn't really fit in and she has a really rough life but then this one boy meets her and is very nice. This video was made very quickly because my previos projet I was planning on doing, my partner backed out so I was left on the curve having to come up with something quick and fast. What I have done so far in my project is completed the script, filmed almost everything, and now I am editing. Editing is the biggest part of a project because it's when your whole video comes together. I ran into a problem while I was editing because I imported all my clips correctly but something is wrong with Final Cut Pro because the audio isn't working! Hopefully I can ask some of my media peers to help me out and fix the problem. My next step after editing my video together is having others look at it and tell me what I can fix so when I turn in my project most of the errors can be fixed. I also plan on showing this project to the family's at family night (you can read about family night in one of my last blogs). So that is my fourth quater project, where I am, a my next steps! Thanks for reading! We'll, sadly as an eighth grader, this is my last year in Cktv!! I have learned a lot in this class that will deffinially prepare me for high school and my life after that. I have realized I don't want to continue in the media/film specially as a career. But I have learned a lot besides how to work a camera and edit. I have learned how to compeemise with people that you don't always get along with, I have learned that everything is not always going to go according to plan! And that is part of life, and I am so lucky i have learned those (out of many many) life lessons in this class because every single thing I learn helps me better prepare for my life ahead. I have discovered many of my strength and weaknesses I was unaware of in media like I love to brain storm and be creative, but I am the ULTIMATE PROCRASTINATOR and I honestly don't think I am going to get better with that problem! So even though I don't think the media field is right for me as a career, I have learned a lot that will prepare me for my future. As the year is coming to an end, we should be doing the best work we can produce. Every year in media we have something called "family night", let me tell you about it! Like I said family night is at the very end of the year. All Cktv media students have to go and can bring along there families. Also the new students that will be in the class next year can attend so they can see what media is all about. Why have a family night? Well, we get a chance to show a video from the school year we have made to represent what we have learned and accomplished So for my video, I'm not quite sure what u want to show yet, but I'm deffinially considering my fourth quater project. Our end of the year projects are supposed to be our very best videos and are supposed to show how far our talent in the media field goes. Everyone is only aloud to share one video each so I would have to talk about my partner on if I can share our projet or not, but of coarse I would tell everyone that we both made it. Now, why show my fourth quater project? Well, like I said, they are our very last projects we get to produce in media for the school year so it should be our best, and I really want to show my family and friends what I can do. So if all goes well in fourth quater, then I hope to be able to present tht video as my representation of what I can accomplish in media at family night. So that's family night for you! Thanks for reading!! Hey! So in this blog I want to tell you about this super sick water shot housing for iPhones. It's basically a really high quality case that you can brig under water and take super nice pictures with. It's pricy but it's all worth it once you have your shot!! They also make these for cannon 60d's and T3i's. Here are some photos of them. Hey guys! So for this blog I want to talk about the school year coming to an end and doing my best in fourth quater! So as everyone knows school is ending this month!! Yes, I have to admit I can't stop thinking about summer vacation, but that's no excuse not to do my work, I have all summer not to do that!! I am really trying to do my best this last quater because it's the one that counts. I have been struggling quite a but in scho because there is so much going on with finals in EVERY CLASS, HSA's, final science, English, and media classes, etc. One technique I use to keep this under control and to try to get all my work done is organization. I organize all my work and what I have to do by putting it in chronological order to when it is due, I do what is due the closest from now first. Why am I trying so hard to do my best this last quater? We'll not only for it to look good and prepare me for high school, but for myself. Yes, I admit I am really struggling in some classes but that doesn't stop me from trying. I'm not the greatest at math or the most creative in media, but I still try my best and when I do I am happy with myslef and that is all that matters. Thank you for reading and wish me luck the rest of this quater!! Hey everone! As you know, this school year is very sadly coming to an end :(. So what all of the 8th graders in media have been assigned to do is make an end of the year slideshow of all the eigth graders going into high school. It's going to be around 10-12 minutes long and hopefully very nice to watch before everyone leaves CKMS. But we have decided to put a little twist on the video to make it interesting to watch so it's not just picture after picture. I would love to tell you but it's a big surprise! That's all I can say so thanks for reading! Bye! Hey everone! For this weeks blog, the topic is giving back to the community. Here on our small island of Kauai, everyone pretty much knows everyone. In the media class it requires a lot of work and support to keep doing what we're doing, and the community is always helping us out. I think it's an absolute great idea to give back to the community of Kauai evaluate they do so much for us. Yes, we are all busy, busy, busy with our projects, radios, etc. but anyone can find time to give back to those who have helped us. If we all work together as a team on Kauai we could all make this an even happier and friendlier place to live. There is so much we could do on Kauai to give back. Some ideas are the whole class could donate recyclables and we could raise money through that and give it to the schools. This would be something great to do because it is easy, we could provide kids with more efficient schooling and keep our island litter free while doing it! Another idea we could do is participate in things other groups/classes might be hosting. For example like the Run for Pa'a. Or the Color for Cancer run! Like I said before, our class is very, very busy with so many things but we can always find time to help out our community. Perhaps we could do some of these things once a quater so that way we are doing it often, but not so often our schedules get out of control. Giving back to our community is such a nice thing to do so I hope we can actually start doing these things on a regular bases! Aloha! Hey guys!! So there has been a huge talk on weather the iPhone or galaxy is a better phone. What do you think?? Most people say iPhones are much easier to work and figure out but others say galaxy's have a better camera setup, etc. I want to know what you think so leave a comment below!! Hey everyone! For this blog I'm going to tell you about the pros and cons of being in media! One of the major pros to me about beig in media is you meet so many new people. When I first joined the class in 6th grade, it was frightening at firt but I made some really good friends that year that helped me get through my first year of middle school. Also, it a lot of wise and smart people in the media and news world. Media is definitely a class where I meet and see new people every year which is definitely one of the many great things about the class. A con of the media class is you are very seperred from the other normal classes. In media (and leadership) you have a different advisory with different grade levels and bungs run differently during class. Sometimes we don't know what's quite going on in our grade level but all the good stuff definitely out ways those little things. Another definite pro of being in the media class is it prepares us for the road of trials ahead. In this class we don't work off of the teacher or our parents. We have to do a lot of things independently like write scripts, schedule interviews, etc. This all prepares us for the future because we re learning responsibility, independance, and teamwork. Inconclusion there is some lows in media but all the great things deffinially way them out! |
